Celebrating the Lady Hiva

It is not often that we get a make a big deal about Lady Hiva. Once a year though, we have the chance to do just that! "It's Your Birthday!"

We made several days of it. On Saturday I was able to find a croissant cooking class. Lady and I have taken cooking classes all over the world and we both like a good croissant. (That is shocking because I am not really a bread person). She had wanted to attend a cooking class but we couldn't find one. Then by a miracle I found a croissant cooking class for the correct day and everything! YAY! So much fun.

We pounded butter, laughed, and rolled, rolled and rolled dough. By the end we were so full on bread neither of us wanted carbs for a while! It was fun. Then we stopped and bought some French Macarons on our way home (so much for no carbs! haha).

Koala Bear sat there for whole class. I had her in the Ergo and under my apron and we baked away

Lucky Dragon and I went shopping for her present. He wanted to get her a Rice Krispy Treat--something they both love. We found a HUGE Rice Krispy at a 7-11 a few weeks ago and he wanted to buy it for her then. I think he really wanted for himself and knew it would be easier to get me to buy it if I thought it was for Lady Hiva. You see he knows his mum would always share with him.  He and I then wrapped all the other gifts from the cooking shop (that Lady had picked out and bought for herself). He loved doing that too! He was so excited to tell her the "surprise" and kept asking if it was time to tell her yet. Of course that lasted only until the next morning at 0900! She was busy cooking breakfast so he opened it for her to show her the HUGE Rice Krispy!

He and I then baked and decorated a cake for her. That, too, was fun. Not sure it turned out as it did in my head, but hey it was fun to do.

We didn't get candles so Lucky Dragon and I made some out of toothpicks, tape and string! So much fun and memorable. A fun few days to celebrate one of our favorite people! Love you Lady!
